Learners of English<\/h1>\r\nJust go through the chapters and do the exercises that appeal to you!\r\n\r\nThe phonetic alphabet<\/a> is in the back matter<\/a> along with an interactive phonetic alphabet and a link to a good dictionary. Use it to help you along!\r\n

Teachers of English<\/h1>\r\nI used to do this as a workshop in my English classes. Out of all topics, five topics (English is tough, th\/th, Calvin, [-d] vs [-id], Calvin & Hobbes \u2013 you may well choose different ones) were mandatory and also mandatory were two topics of their own choosing. They would only be allowed to play the Phonetic Battleship if they had done seven topics.\r\n\r\nIn the back matter, there is a short pronunciation game<\/a>\u00a0that you can play with the whole class as a warm-up.\r\n
